Static Background Radiation

Static Background Radiation is a video, photo, and installation series based on hybrid fictions that explore the construction of identity as related to gender, belief systems, and technology experienced in the corporate work environment. With playful buoyancy, Static Background Radiation uncovers the function of creativity and imagination in our daily life as a way of connecting to our present reality, revealing the open source hidden just below the surface of banality.

The Visitors

The Visitors is one-night only experimental multimedia event set in a high-security corporate office building. Equipped with a system of opening and closing doors, the space is at once both isolated and penetrable, accessible for some and inaccessible to others. This multi-room audio/visual installation uses archival, original and found imagery as a catalyst to consider the workspace as a critical node in an interconnected network, superimposing meaning over the seemingly banal insignificance of daily office life. The Visitors blurs the boundaries between imagined space and corporate space, hidden space, and spaces that escape categorization. Guests will have an opportunity to have a private encounter with the a film archive.
